Ghislaine Maxwell latest news: Brit used Prince Andrew’s ‘stamp of approval’ to manipulate New York’s rich and powerful

GHISLAINE Maxwell was able to infiltrate New York’s elite because of the status attached to being Prince Andrew's pal, it's claimed.

Writer Helen Kirwan-Taylor, who mixed in the same exclusive circles as Maxwell, claimed the socialite traded on her royal pal to access Manhattan's rich and powerful, which included financier Jeffrey Epstein.

She said: "The thinking was if she hangs out with him, she must be OK.

"I observed how easy it was for someone with a British accent and the faint whiff of poshness to forge their way into the most exclusive circles."

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump has suggested that Epstein may have been murdered in his prison cell rather than killing himself, which is what the official autopsy ruled it as.

Also, the case against Maxwell will be explored in the upcoming Lifetime documentary Surviving Jeffrey Epstein.

    EPSTEIN'S 'SECRET' BRITISH GIRLFRIEND

The father of Jeffrey Epstein's 'secret' British girlfriend has admitted the family knew she dated a paedophile.

Shelley Anne Lewis, 43, was yesterday reported to have dated the paedo from 1999 to 2002 – the same time when Virginia Roberts claims she was coerced into having sex with Prince Andrew.

“Shelley” was named in an email from Maxwell to Epstein, which was released among hundreds of pages of court documents on Thursday.

In the January 2015 message, Maxwell, 58, wrote: “I would appreciate it if Shelley would come out and say she was your g’friend – I think she was from end 99 to 2002.”

    Epstein replied: “Ok with me.”

Shelley was yesterday identified as Manchester-born publisher turned “spiritual entrepreneur” Shelley Anne Lewis, 43, according to the Mail On Sunday.

    TRUMP CONFUSED ABOUT MAXWELL'S ARREST

Trump has wished Ghislaine Maxwell “well” again as she awaits trial on sex trafficking charges.

But the US president seemed confused about her arrest.

The President told an interviewer, “she's now in jail. Yeah I'd wish her well… good luck.”

When Trump spoke to Axios on Monday, he was quizzed about the reason for an earlier comment where he offered sympathetic words to Maxwell.

He replied that he didn't know what Maxwell had been charged with.

Trump added: “But I do know that her friend or boyfriend was either killed or committed suicide in jail.

“She's now in jail, so yeah, I wish her well.

“I would wish you well. I would wish a lot of people well. Good luck. Let them prove somebody was guilty.”

'GHISLAINE WAS LIKE A SNIFFER DOG'

After Maxwell's move to New York in 1991, Kirwan-Taylor remembers how she lived the high life, quickly worming her way into the city's elite circles.

Describing Maxwell as being right in the “middle of the action”, Helen Kirwan-Taylor said: “Ghislaine was like a sniffer dog: sharp, alert and with a nose that could detect any useful information.”

MAXWELL 'STILL HAS A TRICK OR TWO UP HER SLEEVE'

Ghislaine Maxwell “still has a trick or two up her sleeve” to help her escape justice for child trafficking, a former associate has claimed.

The 58-year-old is currently locked up at the hellish Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, as she awaits trial on charges of conspiring with Epstein to sexually abuse girls.

But a writer who used to move in the same exclusive circles as the Brit socialite has suggested she may still be able to wriggle out of serious prison time.

Helen Kirwan-Taylor wrote in the Telegraph: “From what my investigative journalist friends tell me, Epstein and Maxwell kept careful tabs on their house guests and, they say, labelled tapes.

“Some people in Epstein’s ‘little black book’ might have good reason to worry.”

She added: “I suspect Ghislaine, raised by one depraved fraudster and romantically entangled with another, has a trick or two up her sleeve, yet.”

    TRUMP’S WELL-WISHES ‘INSANE’

A lawyer previously said Trump’s well-wishes to Ghislaine Maxwell were “insane”.

Speaking at a Whitehouse press briefing Trump told reporters of Maxwell: “I just wish her well, frankly.”

The comments came just weeks before the US president again wished the accused sex-trafficker “well,” in controversial video clips circulated online.

Spencer Kuvin, who represents several victims of pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, said it was “insane” that a US President would make such a comment about an alleged “sexual predator” as she awaited trial on charges of trafficking minors.

“If I were Ghislaine Maxwell and heard a quote like that from the President of the United States, I certainly would think to myself that I've got him on my side as things go on,” he added.

The Florida-based attorney told The Sun: “I think Trump speaking out wishing well [an alleged] sexual predator is scary to say the least.

“But possibly it shows Trump's potential willingness to, for nothing else, send a message to her that if she keeps quiet, that he may give her a favor in the future, which may include pardon.”

MAXWELL’S ARREST FEATURED IN NEW EPSTEIN DOC

The new 'Surviving Jeffrey Epstein' documentary premiering on Sunday will explore Maxwell’s dramatic arrest in her secret New Hampshire bolthole.

Ricki Stern, who co-directed the project with Annie Sundberg, said: “It’s as much about Ghislaine’s arrest as it is about the women… having this moment to say.

“We are going to get our day in court. This is going to be a moment.”

MAXWELL WAS ‘SHARP’ AND ‘IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ACTION’

Writer Helen Kirwan-Taylor who met Maxwell while mixing in high-flying Manhattan circles has claimed the accused Epstein “pimp” was “sharp…with a nose that could detect any useful information.”

Writing in the Telegraph, Kirwan-Taylor described Maxwell as being right in the “middle of the action”, she said: “Ghislaine was like a sniffer dog: sharp, alert,” and able to sniff out useful information.

MAXWELL USED PRINCE ANDREW TO ACCESS MANHATTAN’S ‘RICH AND POWERFUL’

Ghislaine Maxwell was able to infiltrate New York’s elite because of the kudos attached to being Prince Andrew's pal, it's claimed.

Writer Helen Kirwan-Taylor, who mixed in the same exclusive circles as Maxwell, claimed the socialite traded on her royal pal to access Manhattan's rich and powerful, which included financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Writing in the Telegraph, Kirwan-Taylor lifted the lid on New York's high society world, which Maxwell effortlessly operated within in the 1990s.

After Maxwell's move to New York in 1991, Kirwan-Taylor remembers how she lived the high life, quickly worming her way into the city's elite circles — partly because “she came with a stamp of approval from Prince Andrew”.

She said: “The thinking was if she hangs out with him, she must be OK.

“I observed how easy it was for someone with a British accent and the faint whiff of poshness to forge their way into the most exclusive circles.”

TRUMP INSISTS HE STILL WISHES GHISLAINE WELL

Donald Trump has insisted he still wishes Ghislaine Maxwell “well”.

The US president sparked controversy a few weeks ago after he told reporters he wished the accused sex trafficker “well”.

But in a recent interview with American news website Axios he reiterated the claims.

Mr Trump told the interviewer: “And I do wish her well.

“I'm not looking for anything bad for her. I'm not looking bad for anybody.

“Yeah, I'd wish her well. I'd wish you well, I'd wish a lot of people well. Good luck. Let them prove somebody was guilty.”

TRUMP CASTS DOUBT OVER EPSTEIN’S DEATH

The American President is again at the heart of controversy after he cast aspersions over Jeffrey Epstein’s suicide.

When asked by an interviewer from American news website Axios why he wished Ghislaine Maxwell “well,” he said: “Well, her boyfriend died in jail, and people are still trying to figure out how did it happen. Was it suicide? Was he killed? And I do wish her well.”

ALLEGED WITNESS: ‘NEWSNIGHT INTERVIEW MADE ME REALISE I HAD TO CONTACT LAWYERS’

A woman who claims she spotted Prince Andrew at Tramp nightclub the evening Epstein ‘sex slave’ Virginia Guiffre said she was raped by the royal has revealed it was the Prince’s car crash Newsnight interview that prompted her to come forward.

Prince Andrew denies all allegations against him, and said he was at a Pizza Express restaurant in Woking on the night of the alleged rape.

But Shukri Walker, who claims she saw him at the nightclub – even accidentally stepping on his foot – said: “When I watched the BBC interview and saw Prince Andrew deny knowing Virginia, saying he has no recollection of that night I had to come forward.

“Because I was there and I do have a recollection of it.”

    HEIDI KLUM DENIES EPSTEIN RUMOURS

Heidi Klum has denied any connection with paedophile Jeffrey Epstein after Virginia Guiffre claimed she saw the model on Epstein’s private jet.

In the documents, from a 2015 defamation case against Ghislaine Maxwell, a number of high profile people and celebrities are named, including Klum.

But her lawyer told People: “Any reference to Heidi Klum in connection with Jeffrey Epstein is totally false.

“Heidi Klum’s name and initials were absent from all the flight logs which were released.

“Many high profile people are listed, but Ms. Klum is not one of them.

“The explanation is simple. She has never been on any of Mr. Epstein’s planes. And that is because she did not know Mr Epstein and was never on his island.”

Ms Klum said she had been “mistakenly named as a passenger on one of Mr Epstein’s flights,” but didn’t know or have any connection to Epstein.

She added she stands with the victims.

WITNESS CLAIMS SHE SAW PRINCE ANDREW AT CLUB WITH EPSTEIN ‘SEX SLAVE’

A woman who claims she was at Tramp nightclub the night Virginia Guiffre says she was raped by Prince Andrew has said she saw the prince there – and stood on his foot.

Prince Andrew denies all allegations, and claimed he was never at the club and had instead taken his daughter Beatrice to a Pizza Express restaurant in Woking.

But Shukri Walker has no doubts it was the Prince she saw dancing with teenage sex slave Virginia Giuffre at a nightclub — because she said sorry to him after standing on his foot.

Shukri said she turned to apologise after her mishap on the dance floor at Tramp and found herself face-to-face with the Prince.

She recalled: “He was smiling. He said, ‘No problem’.”

Shukri’s account is another blow to the beleaguered royal, who has come under intense scrutiny since 58-year-old Maxwell was arrested last month for conspiring with Epstein to sex traffick women.

Shukri today said she decided to speak out after watching Andrew’s denial during his now infamous Newsnight interview.

She contacted US lawyer Lisa Bloom, who represents a number of Epstein’s victims.

Ms Bloom passed the information on to the FBI, but they decided they didn’t need her testimony.

DAD OF EPSTEIN’S ‘SECRET EX’ SAYS THEY KNEW SHE DATED PAEDO

The father of Shelley Anne Lewis – who was revealed to have dated Epstein between 1999-2002 – says the family knew she had been romantically involved with the peado financier.

Asked by MailOnline if the family knew of her relationship with Epstein, her father Brian Lewis, 71, replied: “It is a difficult question to answer.

“As a young girl we knew she was seeing someone in New York.

    “So yes we did”.

The retired businessman who lives in the family's sprawling million-pound cottage near Knutsford, Cheshire, added: “Now everything has gone mental.

    “It is just getting crazy”.

One neighbour said: “It's shocking that she's caught up with Epstein.

“The family are very nice and will be horrified to be linked to that man.”

    WHO IS EPSTEIN’S ‘SECRET EX’?

Shelley Anne Lewis, 43, was yesterday reported to have dated the paedo from 1999 to 2002 – the same time when Virginia Roberts claims she was coerced into having sex with Prince Andrew.

“Shelley” was named in an email from Maxwell to Epstein, which was released among hundreds of pages of court documents on Thursday.

    Epstein replied: “Ok with me.”

Shelley was yesterday identified as Manchester-born publisher turned “spiritual entrepreneur” Shelley Anne Lewis, 43, according to the Mail On Sunday.

There is no suggestion that she was aware of, or took part in, any criminality.

HEIDI KLUM DENIES ANY CONNECTION TO EPSTEIN

The 47-year-old model and TV presenter spoke out after recently released court documents claim Klum flew on the accused sex trafficker’s private jet.

In an statement to People, a lawyer for Klum said: “Any reference to Heidi Klum in connection with Jeffrey Epstein is totally false. Heidi Klum’s name and initials were absent from all the flight logs which were released.

“Many high profile people are listed, but Ms. Klum is not one of them. The explanation is simple. She has never been on any of Mr. Epstein’s planes. And that is because she did not know Mr. Epstein and was never on his island.”

BILL CLINTON ALLEGEDLY STAYED IN PRIVATE VILLA ON 'PAEDO' ISLAND

Bill Clinton stayed in his own private villa at paedophile Jeffrey Epstein's island after jetting in with the billionaire and two young girls, bombshell court documents allege.

A judge ordered the release of the papers in a long-running defamation case between Ghislaine Maxwell and Prince Andrew accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre.

In the unsealed legal documents, she allegedly claims Mr Clinton was a guest at Epstein’s private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Epstein joked about Mr Clinton being in his pocket, she allegedly claimed.

The Daily Beast reports Ms Giuffre told the lawyer: “I remember asking Jeffrey what’s Bill

Clinton doing here [on the island].”

According to a transcript of the conversation, Ms Giuffre said Epstein laughed and said: “Well, he owes me a favour.”

“He never told me what favours they were,” Giuffre said.

“I never knew. I didn’t know if he was serious. It was just a joke.”

Ms Giuffre allegedly said Maxwell, a woman named Emmy (believed to be Maxwell’s former assistant Emmy Tayler), and two “young girls” from New York were also on the island.

Giuffre does not implicate former US president Mr Clinton in any wrongdoing.

FBI's £4MILLION MAXWELL ARREST OPERATION NEARLY FAILED

The FBI's mega £4million operation to arrest Ghislaine Maxwell on July 2 nearly failed after locals heard their planes circling from 5am.

One resident in New Hampshire said the FBI planes were “a nuisance” and a local even complained to police about the federal agents.

A man told the Mirror: “The planes had been buzzing around since 5am. They were a nuisance.

“We began calling each other to find out what the noise was about. Finally one snapped and drove down to where the vehicles were lined up.”

That resident reportedly demanded to know who the agents were and what they were doing, and was told they were from the New England Aerial map society.

He demanded to see inside the parked vans but was “harshly” told he couldn't.

The local added: “The problem the FBI had was that the guy is an expert in maps and geology. It’s what he does for a living.

“He told his wife, and she called the police on the FBI – it was hilarious.”

VICTIMS HAVE 'SUFFERED ENOUGH' SAY PROSECUTORS

Some witnesses in the criminal case against Jeffrey Epstein’s former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell may face harassment and intimidation, and could be reluctant to cooperate with the government if defence attorneys are allowed to discuss them publicly, prosecutors fear.

Prosecutors asked a Manhattan federal court judge to block lawyers for the British socialite from publicly identifying women who have already spoken about the late financier or Maxwell on a public forum.

“The [alleged] victims of Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein have suffered enough,” prosecutors said.

They have urged privacy for the accusers – except for anyone who acknowledges

publicly they are part of the criminal case against Maxwell.

Defence lawyers said that banning them from publicly identifying alleged victims or potential witnesses in the case will hinder their ability to investigate, prepare witnesses for trial and advocate on Maxwell’s behalf.

“Permitting defence counsel to publicly identify witnesses who have not identified themselves on the record in this case risks subjecting witnesses to harassment and intimidation, with no conceivable benefit to the defence other than perhaps discouraging witnesses from cooperating with the Government,” prosecutors wrote in court papers.

    MYSTERY OVER CELL DEATH

Jeffrey Epstein’s brother has claimed that the paedophile was “murdered" and is demanding that federal authorities launch an investigation into his death.

Mark Epstein, in an exclusive interview with The Sun, said: “I believe my brother was murdered.

“I want to know what kind of investigation they did.

“I have no indication that there was one.”

Epstein was found dead in his cell at Manhattan Correctional Facility last August just two weeks after the 66-year-old was placed on suicide watch when found slumped in jail with neck injuries.

He was awaiting trial on a slew of sex trafficking charges.

“They said the cause of death was pending. Just five days later they said it was suicide,” Mark added.

Mark also accused President Donald Trump's Attorney General, William Barr, of ignoring evidence that his brother was strangled.

Barr insisted that he was able to hang himself in one of America’s most secure jails after a “perfect storm of screw-ups” by prison guards who slept and browsed the internet – shopping for motorbikes and furniture – instead of checking on Epstein every 30 minutes.

“I hired a very well-respected forensic pathologist, Dr Michael Baden, who is an expert on people being killed and the deaths being written off as suicide, to make an independent evaluation,” Mark revealed.

EPSTEIN AND MAXWELL “PRAISED” PRINCE ANDREW'S ALLEGED VICTIM

Epstein and Maxwell praised a sex slave like “two proud parents” for her performance with Prince Andrew, it’s alleged.

Newly released court documents contain allegations made by Virginia Giuffre that she was paid nearly $1,000 for spending two days alone with Andrew.

In the court documents, she wrote: “My job was to entertain him endlessly, whether that meant having to bestow him my body during an erotic massage or simply take him horseback riding.

“The mansion was completely empty save a couple of maids who also cooked our dinners for us, and a couple of bodyguards that we hardly even saw at all.”

MAXWELL GIVEN GUIDED TOUR OF BUCKINGHAM PALACE BY PRINCE ANDREW

Ghislaine Maxwell and Oscar winner Kevin Spacey were given a guided tour of Buckingham Palace by Prince Andrew, it has emerged.

According to reports, the royal, 60, arranged the 2002 tour of Buckingham Palace for the Hollywood star, Maxwell and former US president Bill Clinton.

Jeffrey Epstein is not believed to have attended the trip although he did previously stay at both Sandringham and Windsor Castle as a guest of Andrew.

A source told the Telegraph: “They were larking about on the thrones, doing regal waves.

“Ghislaine sat on the Queen’s throne with Spacey pretending to be the Duke of Edinburgh.

“No one can recall if Prince Andrew was actually in the throne room at the time but he was in charge of the visit.”

Following the visit to the palace, Clinton and Spacey travelled to Blackpool to attend the Labour Party conference that year.

Before arriving in the UK, they had spent seven days on the African continent with Epstein and Maxwell as part of a humanitarian trip for the Clinton Foundation.

TRUMP SLAMMED BY VICTIM AFTER HE SHOWED MAXWELL SUPPORT

President Donald Trump was branded “slimy” by Virginia Giuffre after he wished Ghislaine Maxwell well during a speech.

Speaking at a White House press conference, he said: “I haven't really been following it too much. I just wish her well, frankly,” Trump said when asked for his thoughts on whether she could turn on powerful men such as Prince Andrew, who prosecutors have been seeking to question in connection with her case.

Giuffre responded to the comment by posting: “A slimy b*****d. Unless he was being sarcastic and meant it like ‘Hope she doesn’t end up like her counterpart did’, then that would be actually quite funny.”
